Light for Water

Liquid Lights by Tanya Clark are not only artistic and functional, they have an additional message behind them.  The lights are a reminder of how precious water is and the need to protect this resource.  5% of all Liquid Light purchases go to the Polaris Institute.  The Institute's Water Program aims to develop citizen capacities for education and action on water justice issues in communities.

Buy Pantene, Give Clean Water

Pantene has a program called Healthy Hair for Healthy Water which donates $0.10 per bottle to the P&G Children’s Safe Drinking Water Fund when you purchase Pantene from their website (http://www.pgestore.com/).  By the looks of things, this program is on any and all Pantene products on the eStore site. 

According to the Pantene site, the cost of providing one week of clean drinking water (10 liters) to a child in the developing world who needs it most.  The clean drinking water is obtained through the use of PUR packets that remove pathogenic microorganisms and suspended matter.  Once the PUR packet is dissolved, the water is then filtered and allowed to sit for 20 minutes to complete the process.
